Pro Flight Control System
As the flight simulation market has grown, more and more PC fighter jocks are demanding
greater durability, improved control, and more realism in their flight sticks. ThrustMaster
answered the call with the PFCS (Pro Flight Control System).
Using the original FCS design, ThrustMaster focused its attention on improving the base
design. By using aluminum gimbles, a metal base, and heavy gauge torsion springs, the
PFCS was born. So successful was the outcome that the PFCS is only surpassed in popularity
by the original FCS. Stiffer springs and a heavier base have made the PFCS a more
desirable stick for the serious simulation enthusiasts. Now controlling aircraft in
flight sims is easier. No more disorientation and over control, and the overall feel
is more realistic.
The PFCS also features three buttons, one trigger, and our patented four-way hat switch.
All buttons and switches can be reached easily and quickly, without all the painful
finger gymnastics. This year's model sports a neoprene rubberized handle inlay, allowing
more comfort, greater control, and less fatigue. A rubber boot has been added to the
base for a cleaner, sharper look.
Due to its popularity, the PFCS is supported in all top flight sims and joystick intensive
games. The FCS will always function as a two button joystick in non-supported joystick
games.
The PFCS can be hooked up to ThrustMaster's WCSII. By doing so,
the PFCS can be user configurable, allowing the buttons and switches to be programmed to do
what you want, not the game developer. When the PFCS is used with the WCSII, there is never
a worry about whether it is supported in the software because you can make it compatible.
The PFCS comes with a 15-pin standard IBM game card connector on an 8' cable. The base is
6" square and the PFCS is 8 1/2" tall. The PFCS is compatible with IBM style machines with
a 15-pin game port and Tandy series 2500 and above IBM compatibles. The PFCS has a black
powder coated aluminum base and the gimbal mechanism is constructed of cast aluminum with
Delrin bushings.
ThrustMaster's ACM Game Card is highly recommended for the best
performance of all your ThrustMaster products.
