With owning the WCS Mark II you can expect lots of fun and versatility with very few problems. ThrustMaster's WCS Mark II is a good stable unit that can be used with every ThrustMaster joystick we manufacture.
Here are a few helpful hints to keep you up and running when ordering parts from ThrustMaster.
1. Before taking anything apart, make sure that you can get it back together again.
2. If you are doing some repair work that requires the temporary removal of wires, take the time to note their location before de-soldering.
3. Before attempting any sort of repair or upgrade, always power down your machine first then unplug your WCS Mark II. Caution: NEVER UNPLUG OR PLUG IN YOUR WCS MARK II WHEN YOUR SYSTEM IS RUNNING.
4. When changing the chip in the WCS MARK II make sure that you handle the chip as little as possible. Get everything ready first, then when you are ready to install the chip remove it from it's packaging and then install it per the instructions provided. Before picking up the chip discharge yourself by laying your hand on the metal computer cover, it's easy to damage the chip by getting a build up of static electricity, touch the chip once and ZAP! you need a new chip.
5. If you need to add a little more tension to the throttle movement you can increase or decrease the tension with the adjustment screw located on the bottom of the unit. Be careful that you do not over-tighten the screw, as this may cause permanent damage to the unit. Try making a few small adjustments and working your way up to the perfect tension.
6. If you get into a jam during a repair STOP what you are doing and call or the Service department.
