THRUSTMASTER, INC. ANNOUNCES 23% INCREASE IN QUARTERLY REVENUES
PORTLAND OR, April 22, 1996 -- ThrustMaster, Inc. (NASDAQ:TMSR) today reported first quarter 1996 revenues of $4.6 million, an increase of 23% compared to $3.7 million for the same quarter last year. Net income was $101,000 ($0.02 per share) compared to $173,000 ($0.05 per share) for the same quarter last year. The Company attributes the decrease in earnings to a slowdown in sales of certain high margin flight products. Earnings per share also declined due to a 30% increase in the average number of shares outstanding.
Our continued growth is a good indicator of the underlying strength of the Company when you consider the overall sluggishness in retail during the last quarter of 1995 and the first part of this year, said ThrustMaster CEO Stephen Aanderud. Revenue growth can be attributed to acceptance of our Formula T2 driving controls. We will be announcing a number of new products during the second quarter including a game pad and another driving controller. These products, as well as others planned for introduction in 1996, will help us expand our traditional markets and provide for our continued growth throughout 1996.
